Meet the Trainers

Gareth Whitney

Gareth is our Technical Director, with responsibility for technical standardisation and for developing our growing training team.

By his own admission, he is a perfectionist, an individual if you will who lives, breathes and at times, sweats all things electrical!

Espousing that unusual quality of always being hungry for more technical information, you’ll find Gareth delivering training courses on all the subjects.

Gareth holds degrees in Mathematics and Physics – but he is never tired of learning and is currently studying for a teaching degree.

James Shilling

James is the embodiment of quality and to boot, he knows the IET Wiring Regulations inside out, to the extent that he is known as the “BS 7671 Wikipedia!”

James has in excess of 15 years of training experience and has delivered the vast majority of the electrical qualifications, and produced course materials for many of the courses, offered by Total Electrical Training. He looks forward to seeing delegates; both old and new.

In his spare time, James is studying and continuing to develop his skills and fluency in the Spanish language.

Chris Mitchell

Chris is one of the electrical industries true gentlemen; always obliging, meticulous and supremely organised, Chris delivers courses to the highest possible standards, but rather modestly, confesses that he never stops learning. Chris is currently on a 2 year sabbatical but looks forward to welcoming the fresh intake of delegates in time for the 18th edition.

Chris holds qualifications in Mathematics and Physics. Chris has also been involved in further developing the popular C&G awards.

Chris is married and has 2 children. He enjoys the finer things in life but Chris always keeps himself physically fit through gruelling Kyokushinkai martial arts workouts….so watch out!
