IMPORTANT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ATTENDANCE
To be accepted onto attendance of this course, candidates MUST provide verifiable evidence of having achieved City & Guilds 2382-18 (or equivalent accredited qualification relating to BS 7671: 2018) BEFORE the course. This may be achieved by providing the certificate, or enrolment number if undertaken previously with us.
QUALIFICATION OVERVIEW
This qualification is the benchmark qualification for all electricians who are seeking to gain more of an insight into this important British Standard.
City and Guilds 2382 is widely recognised throughout the electrical industry as the “must have” qualification, as a requirement to show that an individual has a thorough understanding of how to navigate BS 7671.
If you are involved in domestic, commercial or industrial electrical installations, this qualification is widely regarded as the mandatory requirement for anyone involved in the electrical installation industry or is likely to be supervising those that are carrying out electrical installations.
Any individual working within the electrical industry who needs to prove that they have the necessary underpinning knowledge of the BS 7671:2018+A2:2022, will be required to show evidence by way of having a thorough understanding and an awareness of all the requirements of the Wiring Regulations, and that is achieved by being awarded this City and Guilds qualification.
Any individuals involved in electrical installations; whether they are in the domestic, commercial or industrial sector of the electrical industry.
Successful candidates will gain the nationally recognised qualification for the 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations; City and Guilds 2382-22.
As this is an update course, the content will be limited to discussions of the main additions and alterations of BS 7671:2018+A2:2022.
It will be expected that candidates attending this course still retain the understanding and awareness of the navigation of BS 7671 from previous training and regular usage and reference. Content of this training is limited to the main elements of new content, including additions and alterations to:
- Part 1: Scope, object and fundamental principles
- Part 2: Definitions
- Part 3: Assessment of general characteristics
- Part 4: Protection for safety
- Part 5: Selection and erection of equipment
- Part 6: Inspection and testing
- Part 7: Special installations or locations
- Part 8: Functional requirements
- The Appendices
The examination is the same undertaken across all City & Guilds 2382-22 training of any duration.
The examination consists of 60 multiple-choice questions. This is an ‘open book’ examination, with permitted reference to BS 7671:2018+A2:2022, and is carried out using the online City and Guilds e-volve system.
Candidates are given their results at the conclusion of the examination session.
NOTE: Electronic versions of the BS7671 will NOT be allowed into the examinations. City & Guilds only permit printed versions.
Candidates will be provided with their examination results on completion of the examination session.
This course is subject to VAT and is inclusive of all course materials, examination fees and refreshments.

This 18th Edition Electrical Course leads to a fully accredited level 3 qualification in the 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations BS7671:2018.

IET wiring regulations books taken into examinations can contain the following:
- Bookmarks (e.g, blank post-it notes or corners of pages folded)
- Highlighting of text
Please note that copies of BS7671:2018+A2:2022, taken into examinations cannot contain the following:
- Sample exam questions, answers or diagrams
- Any writing in the regulations or accompanying written notes which indicate possible answers within a given section.
- Notes, diagrams or any content that may, in anyway seeks to advantage the candidate in answering questions within the examination.
