The design of all electrical installations needs to be compliant with the 18th edition of BS 7671; the IET Wiring Regulations, which came into full force for all new electrical installations, as of June 2019. With most Competent Person Scheme providers now requiring their members to hold a current 18th edition qualification, this is now regarded as a ‘must have’.
We at Total Electrical Training recommend that individuals that are still holding a 17th Edition qualification, to consider updating their qualification; even if this was completed after one of the 17th edition amendments were introduced.
